Affiliation & Recognition:
Vidyasagar College of Education is a self-financing B.Ed. Training Institute recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (Vide order no.ER-190.6.1/ERCAPP1709/B.Ed/2015/32625 dated 31-05-2015) and affiliated to the West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training Education Planning and Administration (WBUTTEPA) (Vide order No. WBUTTEPA/RO/AFFL/250/2017 dated 11-May-2017).
Duration:
The course of studies including examination will be of 2 (two) years duration. There shall be at least 200 working days each year exclusive of period of examination and admission etc. Out of 200 working days at least 40 days shall be for practice teaching / skill development in nearby Elementary / Primary School.
A working day will be of 6 hours for 5 days, 4 hours for Saturday in a week.
Intake Capacity:
According to UGB and NCTE ERC , It has an intake capacity of maximum 100 (One Hundred) fresher candidate. Reservation shall be made for SC/ST/OBC and PH candidate.
Eligibility:
According to UGB and NCTE ERC , the eligibility is as follows:
- Both Fresher and Deputed Candidate having minimum 50% marks in the Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) or in the Master’s Degree from a recognized university are eligible for admission.
- Candidates having Bachelor Degree with Honors with scoring minimum 50% marks in aggregate of Honors Subject plus Pass Subjects are eligible to apply. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST/OBC candidates.
- The age of Fresher category candidates should not be exceeded 38 years as on admission year. Deputed Teachers from any West Bengal Govt. / Govt. aided/ Govt. Sponsored Schools or institutes having minimum one year teaching experience will be considered.
- Applicants appearing any other course of studies / Full time Research work / Job will not be allowed to pursue this study program at once.

Application Process:
Candidates seeking admission to B.Ed. Program under University of Gour Banga can apply online by visiting the official website (www.ugb.ac.in) as per schedule date. They have to pay Rs. 700/- and extra Rs. 40/- for offline payment, who will submit fees at the U.B.I branches through Challan.
